Title: MEANS TO
REACHING YOUR DREAMS
CONTINUES FROM LAST
WEEK: Discovering your talent and ability is
to know what you do with ease and enjoy doing it without keeping track of time
or what is happening around you.
Means To Succeed: In
the means of discovering yourself, your dream and your talent, you should be
getting insight on how to go about succeeding in that area which you dare so.
The means to succeed largely differs from profession to preofession, career to
career, voation to vocation. As a writer, I go about with pen (pencil) and
paper, because I get inspired by ordinary things that would not mean anything
to other persons. The way someone breaths might generate an idea in me that
could be an article, quotation, poem, prose or lyric. Means to succeed is there
things you do consciously towards achieving your set goal. This could be making
a draft of ‘how’ and ‘when’ and ‘who’. Meaning, how to succeed, when to
do the next thing to succeed, and who
to seek advice, assistance, and encouragement from, to succeed. Thus, in
whatever you do, you must draw out a map, you must make a path through which
you will guide your steps in reaching your final destination-SUCCESS.
Commitment: Here
goes the saying: There is dignity in labour. Unless you ‘work during the day’,
you don’t need rest at ‘night’. Have you ever been in a situation where you did
nothing for the whole day and when
you retired to bed at night, you felt so tired and worst still, you felt much
more tired by the time you wake the next day? I was there! Your body needs
‘work’ so that it can be able to ‘rest’ during the night. That is a clear
indication that unless you are committed to yor dream, unless you ‘work’
tirelessly ‘during the day’, you will not find ‘rest’ when you sleep, you will
not find success and fulfillment. ‘During the day’ means ‘doing something for
the cause of what you want to achieve’-you must be committed to doing
something. It must not necessarily means doing these things ‘during the day’,
it could be during the night, depending on what you do-some career demands that
you ‘work’ most nights and ‘rest’ during the day-writers, musicians, fashion
designers, doctors, soldiers … The draft for this article for instance was made
between 2am and 4am, the cloth Gabby is wearing this morning was made between
12am and 2 am because when I enquired how much time she spent making a dress,
she answered, “sometimes it takes me a whole night to perfect a dress.”-that is
COMMITTED! Been omitted to succeeding is going out of your comfort zone to
receive the ‘cooking’ needed for becoming what God wants you to be. It is like
when you desire to eat rice, the raw grains must be committed to water and heat
before it becomes eatable. How much
commitment should I put, you might ask me; and I will answer, put as much commitment
as the breath you get. If you can be committed to achieving your goal as often
as you breathe, then you will succeed as soon as you start the race to reaching
that ultimate goal.
